What’s the difference between a “gift certificate” and a “coupon”?
A gift certificate is another word for gift card, usually provided in paper form as opposed to a plastic card, that's value provides the equivalent of cash. These are usually redeemable at a specific vendor.
Since the value is the same as cash, there is no minimum purchase, no special requirements and no other caveats. Essentially, a $5 gift certificate to a vendor is the same as $5 cash, usable at that vendor.
The same is true for the mass majority of GCM’s gift certificates. Unless otherwise stated, there are no minimum purchases, no special requirements or other restrictions. A $5 gift certificate from GCM is the same at $5 cash for that specific vendor.
Coupons, on the other hand, are almost the exact opposite. While both lead to a discount, coupons require extensive conditions in order for that discount to be applied, such as $5 off a $25+ purchase, or Buy One Get One Free. This often leads to the consumer spending more than wanted or having to jump through other hoops in order to get the discount applied.
We like gift certificates more.
How do I use the gift certificates on Gift Certificates and More?
Finding and using GCM’s gift certificates is extremely easy, and can be followed in three simple steps:
Search
Explore through all of GCM's featured vendors to find the gift certificate for you. Certificates are displayed by categories and themed sections, easily searchable with the search bar, or displayed by location on the map.
Show
Selecting the vendor will bring up the certificate(s) that the vendor is offering. When at the vendor’s location, simply notify your server or cashier and display the gift certificate info.
Save
With the vendor employee watching, hit “Redeem”, and they will apply the discount to your bill - no matter what you purchased. The employee will often record the confirmation code that displays after redemption.
Can I use the gift certificates more than once?
Each certificate featured on GCM is usable once each calendar month (12 times per year), and resets for use again on the 1st of the following month.
So, if you use a certificate on the 7th of January, that certificate will become usable again on the 1st of February.
What is GCM+?
Gift Certificates and More offers an in-app subscription upgrade for members who are looking to save a lot more money. GCM+ unlocks all certificates for use each month, with no restrictions on total redemptions each month.
Non-GCM+ membership is 100% free, and gives members access to one certificate of their choosing each month. GCM+ members have access to use all certificates featured on GCM each month.
GCM+ members save an average of $120.00/year.

Although GCM primarily featured gift certificates to restaurants, we also feature a large amount of exclusive certificates for golfers. These savings can quickly result in massive savings for our members.
